MBA students are being given new incentive to vie for the "Association for corporate Growth” second annual ACG Cincinnati Cup this month in Feb,2009.Student teams from various Universities offering top MBA programs.Teams from University of Cincinnati, Xavier university ,Miami university,Northern Kentucky University and university of Dayton will observe acquisition or merger case study,prepare recommendations and present them to a panel of judges selected from to industry.Finalists shall be awarded with corporate honours.Each University will choose its own winner and will send the winners for final round at university of Cincinnati.All the finalist team will receive cash awards too.online MBA schools have not been invited so far but hope this will materialize too.Top MBA schools like Harvard and Stanford have so far maintained a distance it seems.However studying MBA is all about simulation of real business scenario.MBA India too has launched a certain programme like this but due to financial crisis have still not put much energy behind it.
Job loss is prompting many executives to go for MBA executive and part time MBA programme.However I do argue again and again that after a complete system overhaul MBA programmes will not be needed.I insist that TOP MBA schools should pay more emphasis on Idea generation.In short we may call it first rate entrepreneurship.It means learning how to change a wonderful idea into real working model.Our economy needs this kind of entrepreneurship.Also MBA students should be taught humility.

MBA OUTSOURCING MANAGEMENT!

Business schools are turning to a new kind of curriculum.Its called outsourcing.Outsourcing is the term used for outsource any white coloured job to a country which has lower labour cost.Many MBA students from Indiana’s Kelly business school are travelling within India to learn and research outsourcing management.America is outsourcing white coloured jobs to countries like India where they are completed at a much lower cost as compared to USA.
President Obama has repeatedly emphasized that he will do his level best to retain these white coloured jobs in USA.This is his plan of controlling mass unemployment in USA.Business schools in America are increasingly bringing major changes to their curriculum.Executive MBA in outsourcing management is hot topic now days.Some business schools may even offer online MBA in outsourcing management technology.
America is shifting thousands of jobs overseas in order to curb cost and increase profits.Around 15 billion US$ is payed to countries like India and Philippines for completing outsourcing jobs. Other business schools besides Indiana are offering courses or other instruction in offshore outsourcing, and students are signing up in an effort to add to their managerial tool kits.
Other M.B.A. programs, like those at Cornell, Stanford and Bentley College, also offer looks at offshore outsourcing. Bentley, in Waltham, Mass., just began a course called ''I.T. Off shoring,'' to be followed by a 14-day trip to India. Is off shoring the next booming industry in USA after IT and Finance.Its very likely that Stanford and Tuck school of business might jump into MBA in outsourcing bandwagon.Even the top business schools find it hard to ignore outsourcing as a subject.India is the top outsourcing hub followed by China and Philippines.India leads in service industry due to its huge pool of English speaking youngsters.

IS EXECUTIVE MBA DEAD!

The eMBA also referred to as Executive MBA is actually a business management programme aimed at developing the skills of executives and managers who are already working in an organisation.However eMBA can only benefit those who have stagnated over the years or find some kind of barrier in clear thinking and execution of ideas.Business is a bird which can only fly if it has wings made of ideas.The current financial crisis shows that even graduate business schools should change their programmes to suit the changes taking place in the World.Wall street went down in spite of the fact that their were many highly qualified MBA graduates who failed to see the loopholes.So.I question the very existence of such programmes which cost a fortune and don’t do much to bring in new ideas.History shows that people who brought new ideas were dropouts from Colleges, and Business MBA programmes.MBA schools worked more like a recruiting agency rather than focusing on research and development .In my opinion even the costliest MBA schools like Harvard and Wharton failed in developing skills.More emphasis was paid on dressing expensively and showoff rather than core skill development.Instead of teaching corporate culture these MBA or eMBA programmes should teach core skills like executing an idea or technology based skills.It brings me to the core topic that MBA is a thing of the past now.It was very evident on the day when GM executives came to ask auto bailout from US senate traveling by their private aircraft.How stupid and dumb can you get? I bet almost all these executives were graduates from premier business schools.Same thing happened when AIG executives organized a lavish spa and working seminar costing almost a million Dollars in a luxury resort after getting a bailout.Almost all these AIG executives too were a product of premier business schools.This incident only proves that MBA is a non relevant today.
If business schools have to survive,they must teach their students to be humble and start working on ground-level.After all Bill Gates,Vinod Dham,Sergie Brin etc did not have MBA degrees.Look where they have taken their ideas!Whenever I see Bill Gates on the television I see his connection with the humbleness and reality in life.Azim Premjee the chairman of WIPRO still drives an old automobile.He too was a business school dropout!

7 steps for a succesful interview!

Mistake no 1: Arriving late for an interview /sleeping away!
Go for an interview even if you feel unfortable.List your priorities in life.Dont spend your interview date sleeping away.

Mistake No. 2: Being arrogant at work or during an interview will only make things worse.Attitude is very important.Be kind to your coleages.Remember that ,you are being watched before and after an interview.Be kind to that receptionist.Research interview questions they might ask.

Mistake no.3: Remember names!Forgetting names can seriously jeopardise you chances of getting employed.Research the company and the names.Be polite to the secretary and ask her name.She is your connection with the interviewers.Interview questions are specifically designed to test your memory.

Mistake No. 4: Make sure that your resume is nicely typed and there are no spelling mistakes.Wrong spellings make a bad impression on the prospective employers.Your cover letter speaks a ton about you and the job offered.Business resumes are often carefully screened.Get your friend to find any faults on your resume and cover letter.B sure to include why you think this job is for you.many online sites like careerbuilder.com and monster.com offer resume templates.Use these resume templates.

Mistake No. 5: Make sure that you don’t give reference of people you don’t know !Ask before hand,if you can take their name in your reference column.Also don’t include the reference of employees from a rival company.Send a copy of your sample resume to your mentor for checking.Writing job resume ,is an art.

Mistake No. 6: Be specific and polite with the interviewer.They might ask you questions which might make you nervous or angry.Remember they are testing your stress levels.Never be too emotional during an interview.

Mistake no.7:Dress appropriately.Don't be too flashy and don’t wear branded clothes.Avoid giving an interview wearing BENETTON or Armani.Be conservative.Your resume and cover letter have already told them much about you!

RATAN TATA POPULARITY PEAKS.

Tata motors a part of Tata group headed by Ratan Tata , is to invest millions of ready cash into JAGUAR ROVER which it acquired from GENERAL Motors last year.Due to financial meltdown the UK plant has run into problems.Tata group has asked for UK government intervention for a bailout.The cash injection might give UK government some time to debate this issue.
Business Secretary Lord Mandelson is doubtful that it can help though!However JAGUAR is a British ICON of the sort and is very popular among the elite class of cars.
Debasis Ray, head of corporate communications for Tata, refused to comment on this issue.This issue has been reported in Financial times.The union has been backing the Tata group.
Labour peer Lord Bhattacharyya had suggested ministers were discussing a £667m loan package for Jaguar but are still not sure.If the bailout doesn't go ahead for car industry, some 800,000 jobs might be axed.Ratan Tata is a sensible businessmen is much adored and discussed as a gentlemen among greedy businesspeople.He comes from the long line of Tata families who are the backbone of Indian industries.Last year only he unveiled the peoples car “Nano” in India.Recently his group hotel The TAJ TRIDENT and TAJ MAHAL HOTEL was attacked by Pakistani terrorists in Mumbai.People of India are demanding that Ratan Tata be given the highest post in Indian politics.Such is his popularity that even the young generation of India look up to him for inspiration.People in India are tired of corrupt and characterless politicians and are increasingly looking at people like Ratan Tata to bail out Indian Politics.

Blonde's are subject of jokes in the offices too with everyone trying to cheer their colleagues.It is a far cry from previous times when television news and department stores would declare that “Santa Klaus is coming to town”.Children at those times were interested in Santa but it seems video games and Internet toys have taken top priority.
Grown up men are more interested in beautiful blonde's than Santa.Marketing companies did what was expected!They produced a hybrid of Santa Klaus and “hot blonde's”.This busty blonde's would make Christmas a little tolerable for the men folk.Advertisement companies are looking for beautiful blonde's to pose as female Santa!Anybody interested!

SHOE THROWER FROM IRAQ!

A lot has been said and shown about George W Bush on the Internet and YouTube videos.Its not a surprise that he was the most watched person on the Internet humour mills.In the history Bush may go down as the popular joker and entertainer .However what happened in the Iraqi press conference during his farewell tour was simply too comic.During his speech a pair of shoe were thrown at him by a Iraqi TV journalist MUNTADAR AL-ZEIDI.It was a farewell gift from Iraqi as he commented after being roughed up by security personal. BUSH remembers that it was a size 10 shoe.It was commonly reported that Bush Junior was shooed away! Shoe thrower is famous now in the arab world.
Now Internet humour pundits will make it an agenda and bloggers shall be working overtime to increase the popularity of their blogs.Humour at Dubya’s expense.Now that Bush will be out of office who will keep us entertained? President Obama is too serious to make any dent on internet humour circles.Bill Clinton did his part with Monica Lewinsky.
People blame Dubya for all the problems in the world but they forget that their was an entire team who was pushing him into these blunders.Why no one is pulling Dick Cheney or Rumsfeld for these blunders in Iraq?Dubya is being made an scape goat for killing 2 million people in Iraq and Afghanistan.To me, he looks like a simple guy who loves his golf and American football.He is too unintelligent to make any major moves without anybody forcing him to move .So clearly he might have been pushed by Cheney and Rumsfeld to do things which would have benefited the company “HALLI BURTON” or CARLYLE GROUP.
George W shall be afraid of flying shoes all his life and may suffer from shoe phobia.He is unlikely to visit any footwear showrooms for next few years.He might even get nightmares about shoe monsters turning blue on him.Imagine the trauma Bush junior will face all his life.He might use influence in Washington to block any funding for the likes of NIKE OR REEBOK,PUMA ETC.He might even forbid his cute wife to wear footwear and retreat to their ranch in Texas and declare himself “George of the Jungle”.
